Terms of Service
Last updated 19 October 2026
The Living Pixels is run by Photon Labs, NSW (“we”, “us”). By using the site or buying land on it, you agree to these terms. Questions: [email protected].
What you buy
When you buy land, you get a rectangle of blocks on the board and one creature that lives there, drawn from your description. You're buying the right to have your plot and creature shown on the board for as long as we run it. It isn't property, a financial product, a cryptocurrency or an NFT, and it has no value outside the board.
If we ever close The Living Pixels, we'll email owners at least 30 days before, and you'll be able to download pictures of your creature.
Your creature
Your creature is drawn by AI from your description. Before you pay, you see its preview: that's the design you get. After that it lives on its own: it eats, sleeps, makes friends, goes on trips, grows up and evolves, and its looks change as it evolves. We don't promise any particular behaviour.
You may use pictures and animations of your creature for your own purposes, such as sharing or embedding it. We may show it on the board, in the site's emails and widgets, and when promoting The Living Pixels.
Rules for descriptions and names
Creatures are seen by everyone, including children. Descriptions and names must not include hate, harassment, sexual content, violence, self-harm, real people, or other people's characters, brands or trademarks, and must not advertise. Descriptions are checked automatically. We may hold, redraw, rename or remove a creature that breaks these rules; if we remove one, we'll tell you and may refund you.
Payment
Prices are shown before you pay and include any taxes we're required to charge. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Land is held for you for 30 minutes while you pay, then released.
Refunds and cancelling
See the refund policy. Because your creature is made and delivered straight after you pay, and you agree to that at checkout, you can't cancel the purchase once it has hatched, except as the refund policy describes or the law requires.
Your account
You sign in with a link we email you, so keep your email account secure. You can ask us to delete your account and creatures at any time.
The service
We work hard to keep the board running, but it's provided as it is, and it may sometimes be unavailable. We may change how the board, the town and the creatures work.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; if a change matters, we'll email owners before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the law of Australia.
